This was the fifth year that an event called Ride the County had been run to raise money for the Thames Valley air ambulance. Each year's event had a different format. This year's was in the form of a scatter rally and it seemed a great idea to ride down and take part for such a worthy cause.
We were sent a riders placard and a matrix for routing. Planning involved devising a route which started from one fo four start locations, then visited any of the 23 other locations via the matrix plan, and finished up at a pub in Brize Norton, Oxfordshire. For each of the locations there would be a question which we would have to find the answer too somewhere in the village or town named.
We left Wolverhampton just after 7am, planning to get to the cafe at the start in Tewkesbury early enough to have breakfast before starting at 9am. The day was bright and
